About Me

Hi, I'm Jason! Currently based in New York City, I spend my days working in medical research, diving deep into projects focused on blood cancers, and I find meaning in pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve in medicine.

When I’m not in the lab, you’ll likely find me exploring the art scene in NYC. I have a deep appreciation for modern art, with the MoMA being one of my favorite places to unwind. I’m a regular at film screenings, often at MetroGraph or FilmForum, where I enjoy indie and art films.

I love an early morning stroll through Central Park to recharge or discover something new in the city. I’m also an enthusiast for conversations over coffee or a pint, especially with people from around the world. Lately, I've been on the lookout for comedy shows to get a good laugh!

I’m also interested in languages and recently began teaching Medical Mandarin. Meeting new people and exchanging experiences enriches my life, and I look forward to meeting fellow travelers and explorers through Couchsurfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wrote the story of my grandfather, a village doctor in rural China. He dedicated nearly his entire life to serving his community as the only doctor in the area, and I was fortunate to spend my childhood with him. He inspired me to pursue medicine, showing me the value of genuine relationships with patients.

I pulished his story in The Lancet, one of the world’s most prestigious medical journals. To many, he was an unknown figure—a hidden hero who quietly helped people in a small, overlooked corner of the world.

Teach, Learn, Share
