Overview
About Me
I worked in university administration for close to 13 years where I usually took a month off each summer to explore, but I resigned last fall to take a year off of work to travel parts of the globe I could never reach previously. I am an avid runner and have recently started to book marathons in as many countries as I visit. I love navigating cities on foot/bike or hit local trails. In a previous life, I was highly involved in theatre and remain drawn to catching performances whenever I can.
I am currently debating my next move and have it down to a few options: 1) Get a job again; 2) Continue traveling the way I have been; 3) Attempt a long through hike like the PCT or try to bike across the U.S.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have traditionally stayed in hostels while traveling but after hearing so many positive stories from fellow travelers over the years, I have started to mix it up a bit. The biggest negative of hostels was that, while you meet lot of like-minded people, you rarely meet people from the area you are actually in.
