Hey!

My name is Jason and I am 29 years old. I just quit my job as a teacher in a youth prison so that I can continue to explore the world and meet new people. I'm new to couch surfing, but a close friend of mine really convinced me it is how I should be traveling. So, I am planning on spending the next few months in Europe and looking for people to meet along the way!

I am open minded and it is very important to me to be respectful of all people from all backgrounds. In the same vein, I believe life is all about the people you build bonds with and that legacy is defined by how those people remember how you treat them. So, I am very considerate and compassionate. I love serving others and particularly working with marginalized communities towards justice.

I am adventurous but a bit introverted. I love to have fun and try new things and, yet, equally value my quiet time. Very flexible and easy going. I realize I am the one who is coming into your space and your world so I do NOT expect to be catered to or even cause you a slight inconvenience. At the same time, I love interacting with people, and want to learn as much as you're willing to share! And, maybe, I can teach a bit at the same time.

Being from the United States, I joke with my friends that I never travel for pleasure. Instead, I do it as a form of international relations. So, I am looking to build bonds and create new memories!

I indulge in everything. Hip-Hop (2Pac is the GOAT!), R&B and Reggaeton are my favorites.

Also, I read anything and everything I can get my hands on. From academic journals to Harry Potter (#Always) to biographies.

Any movie with Denzel Washington or Will Smith, plus independent and foreign films are always a must watch for me.

~Writing a book on how systems (in the USA) fail kids (always want new/more perspectives)
~Crafting a mini-documentary on travel and motivation (people in the USA don't really travel and it breaks my heart)
