I'm a midwestern guy who has had many opportunities to travel the world while working for a cruise line. While that chapter of my life has ended, I've been fortunate to obtain a gig as a brand ambassador, and that lets me travel as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I got my training as an opera singer, have several years of theater performances under my belt, and have spent time in the company of many different people. It is in my nature to want to meet and converse and learn. Couchsurfing will give me the opportunity to both travel and meet new people. It's the best of both worlds!

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE old Michael Jackson (Triumph- the album with the Jacksons- is a fav fav), Bjork, Stravinsky, Wagner, Daft Punk, David Gray, Public Enemy, The Presets.....

The latest book I've been reading is Treasured Readings of Kahlil Gibran. The most florid use of language I've ever seen. I also love historical examination essays, so Same-Sex Unions in Pre-Modern Europe is a favorite as well.

Movies.....well, my top two favorites are "Dancer in the Dark" and "12 Years a Slave", but I don't think I could ever watch them again. Both beautifully done, painstakingly acted, and the cinematography in "12 Years...." is GORGEOUS, but the subject matter is so woefully heartbreaking that I'm not sure I can make it through another viewing without throwing my TV across the street. Other than those, The Dark Crystal (Jim Henson's best work in my opinion), PeeWee's Big Adventure, Wes Anderson movies, well-done movie musicals, art house flicks, and nature and fashion documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I worked on the cruise ship, I got to go to some amazing places and go on some great excursions. One of the best experiences was skydiving in Hawaii.
