About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover the world cultures, and understand how people adapt technology abroad.

ABOUT ME

Hi all! I'm Jason Jong, and I'm supposed to be a senior at Stanford University.

Because I'm a bit tired of school and because my school group, the Stanford Solar Car Project, had a race in Australia this quarter, I have decided to take time off to travel the world.

I grew up in sunny Southern California, where I was raised in a largely east asian community. We would call our city Arcasia for its large Asian population, and Asian food here is amazing!

As a result of its unique diversity to the rest of the United States, I have always been excited to discover the different cultures in the world. Mainly, I love trying new foods. I love Asian food, but I am pretty open about trying new things.

For college, I moved to the bay area (near San Francisco), also a very big melting pot of cultures. Here, I discovered my love for engineering. It is not uncommon for me to get lost in working on a website project over the weekend.

Lastly, I really love airplanes. This may be because, everytime I get on a plane, it brings me to new and exciting adventures.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short, so do what you love. Don't let other's expectations get in the way of what you want to do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trying to get a pilot's license in high school!

Skiing in the alps.

Racing a solar car across Australia! (so much driving x_x)

Scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a bit of Chinese, although I wouldn't say I'm fluent. I grew up speaking it at home, but I don't know the complex terms.

I can cook some very basic dishes, but you probably don't want to risk trying them. However, I do love trying to cook new things while I'm traveling. The kangaroo my friends and I made in Australia was superb.

I would love to share my travels as well as my life experiences.
