Overview
About Me
Hey there! My name is Jay. I was born and raised in New York City, where I currently live and work as a software developer. I love traveling, meeting awesome people, and exploring new cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing seems like the perfect way to get to learn about a country and its culture. I believe people who are willing to allow others to stay in their homes have a certain hospitality and open-mindedness about them. There's no better way to learn about a country than by staying with someone who has lived in the culture and is willing to share his / her knowledge of it.
Interests
I love being outdoors, hiking, and running. I'm a big hockey and baseball fan. I enjoy reading, hanging out with awesome people, and drinking great whiskey and beer.

Music, Movies, and Books
I generally like all kinds of music, but I'm especially a fan of classic and indie rock. I'm also open to listening to anything new.
I'm a huge fan of movies by Wes Anderson (Royal Tenenbaums, Bottle Rocket) and the Coen brothers (Fargo, The Big Lebowski). I will never say no to watching Braveheart or any of the Lord of the Rings movies.
I'm a fan of both fiction and non-fiction. My top 3 would probably be, in no particular order, The Hobbit, Brave New World, and Breakfast of Champions (or pretty much anything by Kurt Vonnegut).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last summer I was in Belize for a week. During my stay, I zip-lined through the Belizian rain forest. It was an unforgettable experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a big technology geek, so I can help teach about computers and basic programming. I love talking about anything interesting I've read lately, be it a great novel or a well-written article.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a very outgoing, positive person and I like to think that can be infectious. I love having a good conversation. I'm also very appreciative of people who are willing to open us their homes to others, so I would be more than willing to help purchase food / drinks for any shared meals.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland
