My wife and I are traveling around the world until 22 July 2016! We don't have a home and we're not going to have a proper place to host surfers for probably a year after we get back, because we're spending basically all of our money and we'll be lucky to afford a studio apartment.

I was a teacher... and a volleyball coach... and a sales dweeb... and a purchasing dweeb. No telling what I'll get up to when we return to the US.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a bit of a travel junkie, naturally. I enjoy history and architecture and sightseeing, blahblahblah. My best memories of all the places we've been have to do with the people we've met. And people become Couchsurfing hosts because they want to meet people from other cultures, too. Makes perfect sense!

We're so ready to give back to the hosting spirit; we can't wait until we've got the space (and furniture) to do it. Hopefully some of the friends we've made find themselves needing a couch in Charleston, WV!

Interests

I still love volleyball, though injuries have kept me from playing much. I argue politics, philosophy, religion and science mostly in my own head but occasionally in cyber- and meatspace.

I'm an 80s/90s kid, so music from those eras, grunge, esp. Gained a new enjoyment for classic rock from my wife; love the Who, Simon & Garfunkel, Three Dog Night.

I like sci-fi; anything Star (Wars, Trek mostly). 80s Teen comedies (Better Off Dead ftw). Big Trouble in Little China. Big Lebowski. Sneakers. Alternate-reality stuff: The Matrix, Dark City, Inception.
