Overview
About Me
I grew up in Texas and outside of a year in Chicago, Illinois, I've lived here my whole life. Despite that, I have a love for travel and adventure. I have seen a great deal of the United States and a little bit of a few other countries and I don't think I'll ever be content just staying put.
I'm gearing up to travel through Europe through the WWOOF program with my childhood best friend, Nathan Bassett. I'd like to open up as many possibilities for travel as possible. I'd like to think of myself as a people person and I always love getting into long and in-depth conversations with new people.
The way I think of the world is complicated but it's influenced by all the people who have wanted to make it more fair and more just for more people. I'm fairly intolerant of bigotry and intolerance. I don't always pick sides but I'm always on the side of the people who have to work, who can only get their voices heard by making a ruckus, and who think things can always be a little better than they already are.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to travel extensively and meet interesting people from around the world. I'd like to eventually be able to host other people.
Interests
I have a very serious interest in politics, history, and culture and the ways in which they all intersect. I read a lot of non-fiction but I love poetry, classic literature, and the occasional contemporary novel as well.
I want to learn about and experience as much of the world as possible. Taking trips to Mexico and Venezuela helped me to understand just how much there is to know even when you think you know a lot.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love a lot of music from Beethoven to The Clash.
Aside from the original Star Wars Trilogy, my three favorite movies are: REDS, The Rocketeer, and Swing Kids.
I have too many favorite books but Homage to Catalonia, The Motorcycle Diaries, and Les Miserables are somewhere at the top of my list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things I've done is travel extensively in my own country either while playing in a band, taking road trips to visit friends, or else for the occasional work opportunity. Every trip I have taken, either to a new place or one which is more familiar, has taught me something.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd like to both teach what I know about how the world works and doesn't worki and learn everything else there is to know as well. I'd like to share stories and experiences with people who think the world can always get a little smaller and a little better connected.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a very friendly and neat person who loves to lend a hand. Any host will certainly find me to be a grateful and respectful guest at the very least and perhaps even a new friend and comrade.
