About Me

American living in Paris for the past two years. Very passionate about travel and the tremendous perspective and cultural awareness it affords. In 2011 and 2012 I spent 8 months backpacking through Europe and East Africa, and a final month in Sri Lanka. That trip completely changed my life and I look back on it as one of the most memorable and important periods in my live. While I haven't had much of an opportunity to travel while being in Paris, I still get a taste of it when meeting or hosting visitors from around the world.

I'm a fairly relaxed, flexible, and tidy guy who prefers a glass of wine, good jazz, and engaging conversation over wild parties or nightclubs. I have a TV, but rarely use it, and still adore flipping through the paper version of the New York Times. Yes, I'm old-fashioned, I can't help it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My ex and I have participated in CS as both hosts and guests and have had nothing but positive and fulfilling experiences. I continue to use it as a way to meet new people both when I'm at home or traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Revolutionary Road was the film that inspired our nine month trip. I'm a Star Wars nut and have been ever since I was a kid. There's a special place in my heart for It's a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Whitewater rafted the Nile river in Uganda.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always happy to help others with their English if they are interested in learning, and likewise, love opportunities to practice and improve my French!
