About Me
33 - male - ginger - Australian - I am slowly making my way to Vancouver to live for a while to escape the harsh Australian sun and enjoy the amazing nature the BC has to offer.
Before I settle there, I am travelling through what I can of North America where I hope to couchsurf as much as possible.
I hosted a little bit back in Melbourne and never had a bad moment, I was lucky to have made friends for life, some of who I will be visiting on this trip.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Most of my travelling I have stayed in hostels which are a great way to meet travelers from all over the world. As a result I have a number of opportunities to stay with these friends which have always resulted in a far more rewarding experience
I have learned that in Antwerp, Carbonnade on fries is the best meal in the world, I started having dinner for lunch in a small village in Germany and was an 'honoured' guest at a wedding in Jakarta.
The latter may be an unrealistic expectation from couchsurfing but the the first two are the kind of unique experience that aren't easily available through hostel travelling.

MUSIC
Started with Silverchair, moved to Metallica, then RATM and slowly moved into the world of metal and now I absolutely love Blind Guardian (Greatest and best band in the known universe of all time) and a lot of Scandinavian death metal. That said, Karnivool and other Australian prog rock is amazing and I can enjoy anything from indie pop, pop and the odd hip hop song.
MOVIES
Hard question, LOTR, Star Wars, American History X, Pans Labrynth, anything Scorsese, 99% of Guy Ritchie, basically anything good and then a few that aren't.
BOOKS
Steven Erikson is my hero, Ian C Esslemont, R Scott Bakker, Tolkien, Harper Lee
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Experienced the Aurora Borealis, not a big deal for some people but coming from Melbourne, it is very exciting.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am incredible at being a cheap cook.
