About Me

Hello! I am an Australian born in Singapore that continues to wander the world and it seems that I get in the habit of changing the city I live in every few years. Part restless, part always being in wonderment of how much there is to see in the world, I try to create a life full of wanderlust. More recently, work has found me in Chiang Mai, Thailand and then Hong Kong. Next stop, Auckland which I hope would be a big country town with the cosmopolitan offerings of a city and a more permanent base.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new like minded people and making new friends is always a plus. It is always more welcoming to being in a home environment and to share life stories with someone. This enriches everyone's life I feel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Electronic to classical music. Varied tastes depending on the mood!
Fantasy, adventure, sci-fi, actions movies; pretty much anything except for horror. Love going to the movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my career break from the fashion industry, I was introduced to the world of specialty coffee in Thailand and Laos through the foundation I was involved with. I met other NGOs that were helping to improve farming and processing practices and got to see first hand what a difference fair trade and sustainable plantations can make. I knew then I wanted to be involved in this world and embarked on training to becoming a certified Q Grader that is able to assess Arabica coffees on a professional level. Not many people pass this on their first attempt, and I was very proud to do so, especially not having been a full time coffee drinker to start of with. Now I am hooked and want to share these farmers' stories with the rest of the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

Whilst living in Thailand, I was privileged enough to be a part of a foundation Building Bridges, that was created to bring assistance to schools throughout S.E. Asia that traditionally serve financially limited villages. There, we worked with a group of monks and tutored them in English and also created projects to go back to some of their hometowns to visit schools to donate scholarships, sports equipment and whatever immediate needs they had. Working in these remote communities was an unforgettable experience and I continue to be a part of this foundation.
