My partner, Jason, and I are two professionals in their late twenties who have decided, after 4 years living in London, to quit our jobs and travel the world. The desire to experience new cultures, ways of thinking and, in general, broaden our horizons and leave our respective comfort zones, are some of the catalysts behind this decision.

Couch-surfing seems like a novel and interesting way to achieve the goals we want during our travels. We seek to interact with with the people who live in the cities we visit, enabling us to really get a feel for what life is like in some of the most exciting and interesting cities in the world. We also feel it will be a chance for us to discover some of the hidden gems that each cities has to offer. But the main reason we think couch-surfing will suit us is the personal connections we will get to make with people from all over the world, with an eye to hopefully returning the favour to our new friends when we return to Ireland after our travels.
