About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hey I wanna see stuff!

ABOUT ME

I want to explore the intimate sides of a city. The people, the food, the drinks, the jokes! I basically want to just share with people the lives that we lead.

PHILOSOPHY

We're all in it together so you might as well just go out there and meet everyone that you can. Try to stretch your mind and your perspective. Think and feel!

Interests

The music community here is great! I work at a club called the Empty Bottle doing sound. I play in some bands as well. New restaurants open up a lot around here and my friends and I try to try as many as we can. Books and movies. Talking about ideas. Times with friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Jeez I like a lot of this stuff. I listen to a bunch of different kinds of music. I like the arty and the weird and the honest and the fun. Lo-fi, folk, 90's slacker rock, the no-wave scene, psych stuff, garage rock, new wave. A few of my favorites include Silver Jews, Skygreen Leopards, Joan Of Arc, Pinebender, Jesus and Mary Chain, MARS, the Cure, Daniel Johnston, Guided by Voices.

I play too: http://earring.bandcamp.com/

I like Books! David Foster Wallace is my favorite author. Others I really like are John Barth, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Arundhati Roy, Murakami, Jonathan Franzen, Mina Loy, james Merrill.

I like all sorts of movies: the laughably bad, thoughtful ones, challenging ones, informative ones, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently I went on a bicycle trip with my roommate from Milwaukee to Minneapolis. The trail was on retired rail tracks which went through a series of tunnels. Walking through the tunnels in really complete darkness, every sound echoing and amplifying, stream water falling from overhead. It was a completely different experience of the senses. Like being lost in something really large without bearings.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd be happy to mess around teaching people instruments or jam with people: we have a lot of instruments here. I also dabble in carpentry (I've built my wardrobe and my bed and a few wood sculptures). If anything I'd be happy to just hear people ideas and try to make something in whatever form it takes. Also let's share some beers!

I'd love to learn new ways of cooking! Also any other little skill, I love learning random skills and tricks.
