About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning more about the world and the people in it. Learning how to connect with generosity, honesty, and compassion.

ABOUT ME

I am a dance artist. I'm at my best when I'm curious. I love to see how unrelated ideas connect and how often patterns are parralled. I work hard, I believe in big dreams. People tell me I have a great energy, but that's usually because they do!

As a guest, I'm low key, communicate clearly about my plans when appropriate, do my best to enjoy the city I'm visiting and love to learn about the lives of my hosts. Have had some great experiences here and look forward to more and better!

PHILOSOPHY

I am honest and sincere and genuine. I want to know why you think the way you do. I want to know how history has shaped you. The snapshots of ideas, the memorabilia of past experiences, the stamps of relationships that you have collected over all these years. What do you hold onto - consciously and sub?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm chasing my dreams with an open heart and I believe the universe will reward me and awaken others to the realities that are possible when you step out in faith.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed in Houston for an audition for a cruise ship. Because of this website, I was able to not only find a place to stay for the night for free, but was hosted by someone who worked as a costumer for a cruise ship. He gave me the inside scoop, watched DVDs of performances, it was great.

I also surfed in NYC for a dance intensive.
So grateful enough to know there is a community of people that want to offer hospitality and meet new people. I can't wait to get the chance to return the favor.

Interests

Dancing, Graphic Design, Singing, being a goofball, making people laugh, making people think, being overly analytical but articulating it in a way that is neither arrogant or annoying. Making new friends. Making anything at all. A poem, an art project.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I LOVE a good mind bending sci-fi! 2001 a space odyssey. Matrix. Being John Malcovich, Inception, Dark Night Rises, Her, Fifth Element, Ex-Machina, Mulholland Drive, Amalie. Goofy Movie. Best in Show. Kings Speech, Curious Case of Benjamin Button (every set made me so homesick for a place i've never been i could almost smell it). I don't have a lot of time to watch movies, but when I do, I tend to watch movies that have shaped cinema in someway. I'd rather watch a film by Fellini than National Lampoon.
Books: I love a good self-help book. the Artist's Way, Mindset, Talent is overrated, How to Win Friends and Influence People, 7 Habits, The comprehensive survival guide to ENFP, Occasionally some poetic fiction (The Book Thief, Farhenhiet 451, A wrinkle in Time quartet, Phantom Tollbooth,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I tried to ride a unicycle at a street circus in Montreal. Thank God for guardrails.
I have taught some really fun dance classes. There is really nothing like a room full of people smiling.

I have gone to the American Dance Festival twice and have performed in works choreographed by Martha Clarke and Jerome Robbins (West Side Story Suite)

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to discover a limit that has been placed somewhere and talk about breaking it down. For instance, many people i know that have gone to a dance concert and said" that was cool, but I don't get it" I'd like to help others understand how to subtract the limits of comprehension and learn something about tearing limits away from my life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have plenty of stories to tell. Ups and downs and all arounds.
