About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To visit every country on Planet Earth. To meet as many people as I can and leave each one a better person. To live life with out regret.
ABOUT ME
I am...just another guy. I was born and raised in a traditional Amish community. It was a great life, but I had to leave when I turned 21. Life has been a mind boggling, interesting journey ever since.I really enjoy my work and the way it allows me to travel. I am very passionate about learning and intend to learn as many languages as I can. I untiringly promote making good choices in life that will help a person be successful in what ever they chose to do. I enjoy trying new things and experiencing the local culture as much as possible when I am in a new city or country.
I consider myself to be very open minded, and I love to meet new people. I believe that couch surfers are a very unique kind of people, that indeed, something has to happen in a person's life for them to go wandering about the great world and staying with perfect strangers. The tales on what caused you to become that person are very fascinating, and I am dying to hear it!
PHILOSOPHY
I am on earth for a short time and I am intent on making the most out of my time here. I constantly make goals that seem impossible , just to see whether I can achieve them.I have heard far too many old people say they wish they would have lived more...and I don't want to have that regret.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting, surfing, meeting locals, promoting CS.If you are in Lancaster especially weekends, or evenings, I would be thrilled to show you around the charming town, or take you out to see the thousands of hard working Amish.
Couch Surfing is so much more than a cheap way to travel (we mustn't forget that benefit, however). It gives me the opportunity to forge new friendship, which remains intact for a long time, and will likely even bring me back again. Without that connection, a city once visited becomes a hollow memory, crumbles, and fades into the dust
Here is a link to an article where the local paper interviewed me on Couch Surfing.

And of course, travelling!! One of my favorite things is coming to a city I have never been to before, where I know no one, and I do not speak the language.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
*A very profound moment in my life was standing on top of a tall, bombed out building in Mostar Bosnia, at a spot occupied by a sniper. To see the rusting pile of shells, and realize the destruction and grief caused here was intense and deep.
*Visiting the tunnel of hope in Sarajevo. Amazing!
* I spent a month onthe Trans-Siberian train across Russia from Vladivostok to ST Petersburg.
*Seeing the town of my ancestry in Trub Switzerland.
*Roaming a dark, bad part of Budapest at midnight, lost, just having arrived, and fighting off a would be thief.
*Climbing and experiencing the great wall of China.
*Riding a motorbike thorough the villages and jungles of Vietnam. Being chased by police through these jungle villages
*Skinny dipping in the cold Norwegian fjords at midnight
*Sleeping in the Hong Kong jungle spontaneously on a piece of plywood.
* Spending an entire night chasing the most amazing colorful aurora borealis in northern Norway/Finland.
*Hiking and camping in Australia's great outback. Crossing Australia by train.
*Took the train from the Arctic Ocean to the Black Sea. 5,000 KM
*Exploring the world's largest underground wine cellars in Chisinau Moldova
*I spent some time in the coldest village on earth in northern Siberia. I have never been so cold in my life.
*I was on a flight in which the engine caught on fire.
*I made a solo visit to the non-existent country of Abkhazia
*I spent several days in the war torn country of Nagorno Karabakh.
*Climbed three of Norway's most beautiful places. Troll's Tongue, Kjeragbolten and Pulpit Rock
*I spent a week camping in the Arctic Circle and watching the midnight sun
