Hi! I'm Jason, a university student studying English Literature, originally from Hong Kong. I grew up trilingual, speaking English, Cantonese, and Mandarin at home.

I took a year out after high-school just to immerse myself in my love for travelling, funding personal trips to England, Scotland, Japan, Germany, Paris, and Cambodia. My travels mostly focus on culture, art, music, and escaping from the confines of responsibility!

For me, the best part about travelling is meeting people - being adopted into a friendship group in Cambodia was the most amazing experience and week I've ever encountered, and would love to share that passion of trust and friendship with others through my own culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to make friends of different cultures, and to share my own. To open up one's home not only allows the guest to experience the culture, but also allows them to experience a friendship originating from trust.

Also, as a traveling student, it's more economical, making the experience more worthwhile as I can make friends on the way! :)

Interests

I'm a journalist writing for PLUG magazine, an LGBT community and culture magazine based in Hong Kong.

I'm at heart and most passionately a musician. I mainly sing opera and jazz, and play the piano and double-bass.

I'm a huge jazz and Lady Gaga fan, and I love pop-culture.

I'm also a big English literature fan, my favourite authors and poets being Virginia Woolf, Charles Dickens, Thom Gunn, T.S Eliot, etc.
