Overview
About Me
Just a human doing human things, trying to explore as much of this little sphere we all call home.
Couchsurfed for the first time in 2016, had cool experiences, and then life got in the way.
I'm at a new beginning of hopefully more travels, and to explore both the outer physical world and also the equally wonderful inner (perhaps metaphysical) worlds that exist inside of every human. I believe everybody has a valuable story, if they're so inclined to share, and to be exposed to new ideas and ways of thinking is absolute magic.
Also vegan, which would probably matter if we were to share a meal together :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Other than the obvious reasons (to save some money to extend trips) I also hope to meet people with lowered walls, who I can have genuinely fulfilling interactions with, and I'm also keen on seeing places through the eyes of a local, because all the little nuances that exist in the places we grew up are embedded so deeply into our psyche.
I feel, however, this becomes less and less true as the internet has given us easy access to a wider variety of perspectives, whereas in the past we only relied on stories to understand something bigger than ourselves.
Interests
Skateboarding has consumed about half of my life so far, and will forever hold a dear place in my heart, though it no longer is all-consuming, it is a pretty big part of who I am.
Enjoy consuming art and occasionally butchering an attempt to create some. Not a big drinker, but not opposed to the occasional rave/parties with good people and music. Very partial to techno (and many of its sub-genres), psytrance and sometimes a bit of house or even jazz house!

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a pretty wide range of music, though I'm not the biggest fan of hardcore death metal.
Ranging from HNNY to The Killers, Kerala Dust, Shpongle, Connan Mockasin, Bedroom, Shakey Graves, Bahamas, La Femme, Future Islands, Django Django, Pink Floyd, The Flaming Lips, The The, LOUD, Gorovich, Electrypnose, Chaos in the CBD and Mall Grab.
Used to be more of a movie person, but never really find the time to watch films nowadays. Some favourites that come to mind are: Big Fish, It's a Wonderful Life, Trainspotting, A Beautiful Mind, Moonrise Kingdom and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.
Really enjoyed reading 'The Razor's Edge' and currently reading (sporadically) Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. Anything with a pantheistic theme that illustrates the interconnectedness of the universe and our observer places in this reality.
Life is too short to focus on differences, and duality is the main cause of all problems we have in the world. At least, that’s what I believe to be true.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Made it this far in life.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you want diarrhoea, suicidal taste buds or something possibly worse, I could cook something for you.
But don’t say I didn’t warn you ;) I absolve myself of all responsibility for any ensuing hospitalisation fees.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Genuine interest in their lives, and to answer any questions you may have about my (so far) limited travels, my life at home, and my ideas regarding any topic at all, though I may not be able to provide educated answers to more niche scientific subjects.
