ABOUT ME

My name is Jason. I absolutely love new experiences so the opportunity to backpack through Europe was kind of like the ultimate new experience as I met so many new people and tried so many new things in an environment that was constantly changing and foreign to me. I am a very down to earth and genuine guy. I love making new friends and being someone people can talk to about anything. I don't judge other people because I would never want to be judged. I am very upbeat and optimistic, with an energy for life and all that it brings.

PHILOSOPHY

Live Life. Two seemingly simple words, but they have so much meaning. Live life for yourself and to the fullest each and every day. Life is too short to go through it unhappy. Smile everyday. Falling down doesn't mean giving up, it's better to have tried and failed than to never have tried at all. Life is the future, not the past. We can grow and learn from the past, but we must always be living for the future. So Live Life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope that couch surfing will allow me to further envelop myself in each city, country, or area I am in when I travel. I am not looking for the typical tourist experience in my travels, and I am hoping that couch surfing will help me accomplish that. And when I am hosting, I hope to be able to positively add to the overall experience of fellow travelers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had great experience with couch surfing so far. I was lucky enough to be hosted several times while backpacking through Europe and made so many new friends. I also have friends who host surfers all the time here in Seattle, and I have loved meeting them. I recently got a new apartment and am excited to be able to start hosting surfers myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love watching movies and it is always incredibly hard having to pick a favorite. I love the Lord of the Rings series, A walk to Remember, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Happythankyoumoreplease, and 500 Days of Summer. I also love reading books, especially a good fantasy novel or something that makes you think. My favorite series is the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind, A Song of Fire and Ice, and the Hunger Games trilogy. As far as music in concerned I am extremely eclectic with my taste in music and will listen to practically anything. One of my favorite artists is Lights, but I enjoy anything from classical piano to pop, and all the way to dubstep/electronic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went backpacking through Europe for 3 incredible months. It was life changing! I was so lucky the entire trip and saw so many places, made so many friends, and did so many things!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have studied French off and on since High school in varying degrees and am looking forward to furthering my knowledge of the language during my travels abroad. I also hope to be able to make friends and share what I know or what I can throughout my adventures.
