About Me
Fully Vaccinated
I am a beginner level Spanish speaker. I'm happy only speaking Spanish because I want to improve. I've also studied Chinese, French, and Portuguese.
I'm clean, conscientious, respectful, adventurous, and openminded.
I first took time off to explore the US, and now South America. For now, I consider myself a global nomad because I am all about the journey rather than any specific destination. This provides me the opportunity to expand my understanding of people, how they live, how their minds work, and getting to experience their lifestyles with them. This also allows me to better understand myself.
I grew up in NY, but have lived, worked, and studied in several places. I most recently lived in Brooklyn and Senegal. My professional background is in geography and sociology, but I'm moving into public policy/advocacy/local government. One of my goals for this trip is to support a successful public policy career by better understanding the people policy is supposed to serve.
I enjoy experiencing new geographies, both urban and natural. I am most happy when in the company of people who are living their full genuine, driven lives in freedom. I like playing sports and games of all kinds, conversation, listening to stories, reading, learning, exploring, hiking and other outdoor activities.
I can get along with anyone. Being respectful of my hosts and their home is something I take seriously. It's important to me for both of us to feel all the better for the experience. I'm happy to spend time together, do my own thing, or a combination. Also happy to help out with any chores. It's important for me to contribute in some way.
PHILOSOPHY
The best way to experience a place is through the people.
Don't allow your desired life trajectory to be redirected by systems that were not designed to maximize your individual potential.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I enjoy the experiences of both hosting and being hosted. Unfortunately, I cannot host most of the time due to having roommates or living abroad and not having my own place, but I look forward to hosting more in the future.

Teach, Learn, Share
Learning new things is the most stimulating experience to me. My favorite way to learn is through conversations with new people and by living their lifestyle with them. I feel strongly that we all need to communicate more with each other.
