About Me

Student at heart turned writer, always keen on meeting new folks, exploring new areas or tasting new foods! I am overly passionate about board and roleplaying games and always have a spot at the table for more. I currently live in the lovely town of Sarlat with my husband and the real masters of the house: our cats, Gatsby, Leia, Luke, and Floof. We will not be able to host too often, but we hope to be able to once in a while for people wishing to dive into the Dordogne culture and cuisine!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find that travel is far too often a chore, and far less often a joy. One of the primary reasons for this might be the lack of human connection in the travel industry, my hope is that by couch surfing, as a surfer or couch provider, I can experience a different, more real and human side, and help provide that experience to others! I will be traveling in France occaisionally in the US, and also coming back to Geneva on occasion and look forward to establishing a network of contacts and friends along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books

Musicals (I promise not to share any against your will)

Most movies that blend action and comedy, though I have a soft spot for many an old classic like the Court Jester or the Sting

Fantasy and science fiction are my bread and butter, but I am a voracious reader of many genres and always on the lookout for another paradigm shifter, entertaining page turner or literary soul food for my shelf! Favorite authors include Terry Pratchett, Tamora Pierce, Guy Gavriel Kay and Brandon Sanderson.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got to spend a single week in Bhutan, hiking and visiting temples. If there is enough stillness, I can close my eyes and recall the taste of the air there. I wish it were possible to return, but I know too that other magnificent places await on other horizons!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not great at teaching French or English, though I am happy to help you practice either, and unless you need a writing coach (or editor) I doubt my professional experience will be of much use. That said, I am incredibly open-minded, optimistic, and patient, so if you want some of that "bisous-nours" (french for teddy bear) perspective, I am always down to share!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would be delighted to share conversations on just about any topic, a chill or hardcore boardgame is always welcome, or simply discover more about wherever you live, especially the food and culture.
