Overview
About Me
I am a Social Anthropology student living in London at the moment. My parents are german but I grew up in Brussels, Belgium, in a socially and culturally mixed environment. That probably also lead me toto study social anthropology, the study of human society and culture.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I created my couchsurfing account when I was about 15, when my brother had stayed with loads of people all over India via Couchsurfing and told me all about it. I never actually did couchsurfing as I usually travelled in countries where I knew people to host me. However, I hitch-hike a lot through europe and am always happy to meet new people, hopefully via couchsurfing, too.
Interests
I would say that, on one side, I have my social and political interests, which take shape in engagement in climate justice and social justice movements as well as my studies (Social Anthropology), which I find extremly enriching and critical.
On the other hand I have recently discovered improvisation on the piano, after more then ten years of classicalpiano education. I play in a band and work as a videographer for my students union. I also occasionally publish collages and poems in my universities magazine.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: everything from Arctic Monkeys to Alt-J, Mercedes Sosa, Chopin and Rodriguez. Anything, really, with a bit of soul in the music and a bit of rhythm :)
Films: Pulp Fiction is one of my long-time favourits. I loved watching Breaking Bad,though I prefer less violent movies these days. As I am interested in cultures and human society I enjoy slow-paced, close-up movies such as 'The Sound Of The Forest' or 'Buring'.
Books: I just finished reading Baldwins "Giovanni's Room", a absolutely shaking novel investigatinf manlyhood and homosexuality. I am working my way through modern day feminists readings such as "The Female Eunuch".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last week, I stopped a group of school boys pushing around one of their mates by simply , walking by them with a majestic hat and asking in a pretentiously deep voice if there was a problem ( I am 20 and absolutely not intimidating so that was quite amazing).
Teach, Learn, Share
Musicmusicmusic! I love sharing favourite artists nd jamming if people are up for it! Also I am very interested in discussing the ecological transition, social justice and gender in todays society.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook, I can make music, I can dance... I love familiarizing people with the broad perspective anthropology teaches one to take on things going on in the world.
