Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet locals when I travel. To stay in hotels and see sights doesnt allow a person to really experience a place. To do this one must meet locals who are part of the community.

I like to ski in wild mountains away from resorts. I also love flamenco. I think the world is full of mystery and I think that mystery is accesible through exploration and critical thought.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anna Karenina is one of my favorite books. I also love Tolstoy short stories. Ernest Hemingway Gabriel Gatcia Marquez and Carl Sagen have also been influential authors. Not to mention adventure tales of mountaineering by the likes of Reinhold Messner. I also enjoy films by Pedro Almodóvar and Tony Gatlif. They come from a culture other then my own. One of my favorite films is The Great Beauty about contemplation and the little things in life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen two moon rises in one night. Slept in the snow and been immersed in snow over my head.
