ABOUT ME

For the past two years I've lived in Rwanda, the beautiful Land of 1000 Hills, as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Education. It has been a wonderful experience.

I love to spend time with my friends and family, especially cooking, baking, hiking and camping. I love music of many descriptions -- used to play the trumpet in my high school jazz ensemble. I enjoy Ultimate Frisbee and have been able to participate in a couple of tournaments in Kigali, but haven't played regularly since transferring from Oberlin College. I don't drink or smoke.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Back in 2008 I travelled in France for a week and a half. I was able to stay with hosts in Grenoble. It was a wonderful experience which I am hoping to repeat. Since then I haven't had couch space; I don't actually have a couch now. I live in a very small village an hour down a dirt road in two 3x1.5 meter rooms!

I went sledding in Norway by the light of the Aurora Borealis.

Saw sunrise on the Grand Canyon.

Shared meals with my family.

Did a self-powered trip across the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

Became a member of a small community and a wonderful family in Rwanda.
