ABOUT ME

let's see. i am a college professor. so, i teach. i love to learn, so i think that is why i am still in school teaching. people generally fascinate me. i think that has something to do with why i love to travel. it isn't all about all the places you can see, but it's more about the culture, well humanity really, that i get to experience. i believe that tolerance is the answer to most cultural clashes including religious ones. so, i am trying to learn to be more tolerant. i think we could all use the practice.

PHILOSOPHY

i have a degree in philosophy, but none of it was personal. mine has something to do with integrity and knowing yourself and creative expression. somehow, when these words collide, you will know what i mean.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

so far, i have only hosted. i love to be hospitable and welcoming. when i demonstrate those qualities, i know they can still exsist in this world. it's my way of fighting cynicism. but, after having moved to the pacific northwest, and knowing that there is so much to explore around here, i am looking forward to many an unfamiliar couch to surf.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i have only hosted and met for drinks. i have yet to have a boring hosting experience!

兴趣

i love being barefoot with my hair down. i love to sit on a rock in the middle of a creek near the hiking path i am "supposed" to be going up. i love facing my irrational fears of the deep sea creatures by battling my way down to discover the peace of the ocean floor. i have a book with me at all times. i recently met the love of my life: the viscount argus humphreys, my 1964 red triumph 3-speed bike. my free days are usually spent just me and him, but company is always welcome.
