About Me

Born in the Canary Islands and currently living in Madrid. I love reading, travelling, music and moving around! My friends say I am always carrying a smile around, a description that I love and I believe quite aptly reflects my daily state of mind!! Fortunately, I feel that I am quite a positive person and I have learned to really like my life right now and the people I have surrounded myself with.

I am always down to try out new experiences and meet new people!! On the other hand, I am also quite independent, so if you have things to do, I will not mind roaming around the city by myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am in CS because it has given me the opportunity to meet many wonderful individuals on my trips, as well as learning about the places I have stayed in from a different perspective from that which one has as an average tourist.

My favourite part of visiting a place is experiencing - even if briefly - how it is lived by its inhabitants. After all, for me, urban settlements' main beauty is the way life is enjoyed all around its private and public spaces; how these spaces habilitate the dynamics of commonality.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy reading! I would say that my all time favourite book is Rayuela, by Julio Cortázar. Nevertheless, I prefer to talk about what I am currently reading. Yesterday, I finished Brandon Sanderson's 3rd Vol. of Stormlight Archives (a series that makes me dream) and I am currently looking for a new novel to read. I am also reading Gilles Lipovetsky's "Le sacre de l'authenticité" and Kenneth Frampton's Critical History of Modern Architecture.

In regard to films, I would not be able to choose a favourite. I think that the films I have watched the most amount of times are Cinema Paradiso, Coco and Whiplash. Two films that I have watched for the first time this year and that have fascinated me are Perfect Days and Portrait of a Lady on Fire.

I don't really have a marked taste in music! At any moment, you could find me listening to a wide variety of artists, from Bad Bunny, to Jacob Collier, Stevie Wonder or The Black Keys.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nothing too incredible, but I went to study in Chile for a semester and was able to visit some of the most spectacular sites that I have ever seen :))
