E:Our names are Javier and Isidora, we are both 28 years old, we are a Chilean couple, specifically from the city of Talca; the fifth largest in our country, a city where people live mainly from agriculture.
Javier studied "Business Administration" and has worked for 3 years in the Chilean government bank, but he realized that he was not born for this office job. He is also a musician, so he lives singing and playing his guitar.
Isidora studied film and television in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and works as a producer on a TV show and as a teacher for a Montessori school.
We are a very happy couple, we love learning from different cultures, walking around, cooking and living new experiences, also we like sports and all kind of arts. This year we have decided to stop our life in Chile to improve our English and travel throughout Europe.

S:Nuestros nombres son Javier e Isidora, ambos tenemos 28 años, somos una pareja chilena, de la ciudad de Talca; La quinta ciudad más grande de nuestro país, una ciudad donde la gente vive principalmente de la agricultura.
Javier estudió Administración de Empresas y trabajó durante 3 años en el banco del gobierno de Chile, pero se dio cuenta de que no había nacido para este trabajo de oficina. También es músico, por lo que vive cantando y tocando su guitarra.
Isidora estudió Cine y Televisión en Buenos Aires, Argentina, y trabaja como productora en un programa de televisión y como maestra en una escuela Montessori.
Somos una pareja muy feliz, nos encanta aprender de diferentes culturas, pasear, cocinar y vivir nuevas experiencias, también nos gustan los deportes y todo tipo de artes. Este año hemos decidido detener nuestra vida en Chile para mejorar nuestro inglés y viajar por toda Europa.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

E: Mainly because we want to meet people and places in England, we will be volunteering for two months in the city of Frome, Somerset. So we have our weekends free to know the surroundings.

S: Principalmente porque queremos conocer personas y lugares de Inglaterra, estaremos haciendo un voluntariado dos meses en la ciudad de Frome, Somerset. Por lo que tenemos nuestros fines de semanas libres para conocer los alrededores.

Music, Movies, and Books

E: Javier likes movies and psychological intrigue books, David Fincher and Ted Dekker could be good references for him. Isidora likes classic and independent films, from 400 hits to Donnie Darko, and her favorite writer is Margaret Atwood. From music we went through all styles, rock and indie, Latin American folklore and urban music.

S:A Javier le gustan las películas y libros de intriga psicológica, David Fincher y Ted Dekker podrían ser buenos referentes para él. A Isidora le gustan las películas clásicas e independientes, desde los 400 golpes a Donnie Darko, y su escritora favorita es Margaret Atwood. De música pasamos por todos los estilos, rock e indie, folclore latinoamericano y música urbana.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

E: This year we decided to leave our jobs in Chile to make a trip to Europe. We started our tour in Ireland, where we did a volunteer in Callan, very close to Kilkenny, where we worked in the kitchen of a cultural café. Now we are in England, and then continue touring the entire continent.

S: Este año decidimos dejar nuestros trabajos en Chile para realizar un viaje por Europa. Partimos nuestro recorrido en Irlanda, donde realizamos un voluntariado en Callan, muy cerca de Kilkenny, ahí trabajamos en la cocina de un café cultural. Ahora estamos en Inglaterra, para luego seguir recorriendo el continente entero.

E: Everything related to the history of England, its culture and its food interests us very much, we are very open to learn what they want to teach us.

S: Todo lo relacionado con la historia de Inglaterra, su cultura y sus comidas nos interesa muchísimo, estamos muy abiertos a aprender de lo que quieran enseñarnos.
