About Me

Hey there!

I'm Javier, a 26-year-old accountant from the Dominican Republic. Right now, I'm studying for my master's in finance in Mexico. I'm pretty shy and reserved, so I'm using this platform to push myself out of my comfort zone and meet new people. Plus, travel can be super pricey, so Couchsurfing helps with that too!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to challenge myself, make new friends, and experience different cultures. Couchsurfing seems like an awesome way to do all that.

Music, Movies, and Books

At the moment I'm listening to Dua Lipa a lot, but my music taste varies from pop to merengue (I don't dance even though that's the stereotype) but I’m open to anything. My favorite movie is kind of my guilty pleasure, its "the devil wears prada" really good movie, relatable and still doesn't feel like an old movie except from the phones used in it, but also open to any kind of movie genre, lately was into marvel movies (only MCU haven't read the comics) even now that most people are really tired of super hero movies, I can't get over the Scarlet Witch. Love board games and video games, before I started studying in Mexico back home that's what I did most of the time, I hung out with friends playing Catan, Here to Slay or rented a new board game just for fun! (did win at most of them, unless they'd let me win without me knowing).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's not that amazing but I got into the masters through a scholarship given by the government, though I might suspect that I got it because there was a quota for the University I applied and had to be fulfilled (me diminishing a possible achievement). But I do offer my seat to other people (I know, not that amazing).

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm interested in learning about new cultures, languages, and local traditions. If you have any favorite board games, I'd enjoy learning and playing them. And if you'd like I'd be happy to try help cooking. (I don't know how to cook properly, I call it heating food up, like heating raw chicken on the stove until its less probable to give me food poisoning)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Financial Tips: As an accountant and finance student, I can give some basic advice on managing money.
Stories: I might be shy, but I have some interesting stories to share once I warm up.
Also some might say I give great advice but that's just very subjective.
I can walk your dog, clean the bathroom, whatever you need, just ask!
