About Me
Hi!! my name is Javiera (Javi for short), I'm a 21 year-old chilean law student. I'm new at couchsurfing, hence the lack of references :((
I was born and raised in Rancagua, a city near Santiago, where I'm currently living and studying. Whenever I travel I enjoy trying new types of food, visiting museums and hopefully getting to know places where locals tend to go instead of just visiting the touristic areas of the cities (although I like going to those too).
I reaaaaally would like to say that I'm a VERY active person like everyone I've ever met but University just finds its way to occupy most of my time, leaving me with almost no free time to do those fun activities like running, climbing a mountain and jumping off a cliff so I just make do with getting a gym subscription every 6 months only to end up going there 2 or 3 times until I forget I ever got it in the first place and then repeat the cycle. Although, I do enjoy walking!!
What I do on my free time is going to concerts, but most of all to music festivals because I like the vibe they create (if it makes sense?). Swimming in the pool when the weather cooperates, going to my Uni activities (seminars, parties, debates, etc.), reading, binge watching tv shows and petting animals that I don't own (cause I don't have any).
Also, I think it's important to mention that I'm a very open-minded person or at least i like to think so :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm currently visiting my mom in País Vasco and since I came all the way from another continent and crossed the Atlantic Ocean to get here I thought I might as well go visit other parts of Spain and maybe even outside the country if I have enough time. At first I was thinking about staying in some cheap B&Bs cause I'm a college student on a budget, but then some friends introduced me to this amazing site called couchsurfing where you can make friends while travelling and I thought it would be a great idea bc it would take me out of my comfort zone and force me to have new amazing experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy watching movies but, if I'm being honest, I'm more of a tv person. I love getting invested in shows until they pretty much ruin my life. My favorite movie is Good bye, Lenin! and my favorite tv shows are Orphan Black and Gilmore Girls.
In terms of books, my favorite ones probably are Cien Años de Soledad and Les misérables, but I'll read anything just bc I enjoy doing so.
Music taste: literally all genres (except maybe country music). It depends on my mood. I LOVE Lana del Rey.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Like I said before, I'm not that adventurous and all the profiles I've seen so far fill this area with things like swimming with sharks or parachute jumping so I hope that time when I was around 11 and climbed the Villarrica volcano all the way to its crater is impressive enough. I'm not gonna lie, IMO it was pretty cool.
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't have many cooking skills so, sadly, I won't be able to make any chilean recipe for you, but I'm really good at following instructions in case you feel like cooking and want me to help you out. Also, I can teach you some chilenismos (chilean slang) if you ever plan on visiting Chile and want to understand whatever the hell we are speaking (some ppl even say it's not spanish lol).
