ABOUT ME

Ok, let's start talking about me. My name: Javier Valencia. Actually that is my second name and the first lie when I always introduce myself. But, to be honest, I feel very secure with this name and that is how people know me. I am journalist, but if I could go back to the past, definitly I would never pick up this academic degree again.  Now, after many days and years, I see Journalism as the bridge to get close to what I really love: Cinema!All my entire life I spent more time with a Television and teathers than friends and also my family. This is not a sad story even not a classic american lifestyle. It's just the way I could have touch with a world where the enterteinment is not the main topic, because there are more than just fun and laughts.In the other hand, I also like the cruisine. At this point, I am very vulnerable, considering food is for me like candies for a child. I am always trying new plates and this is, without no doubts, the best way to know a culture.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I travel I usually go to hotel or rent a flat. But, I always help people let them staying at my home which is quite a very charming place. Lately I am becoming part of groups, so I am going out with people showing around and make them feel confortable in this hot city.

This could be also eternal, but I just want to stop and mention people I love in literature and poetry: Allan Poe, Generation Beat, Julio Córtazar, Marcel Proust, Manuel Zapata, Raúl Gómez Jattin, Joyce, Truman Capote, Yourcenar, Mario Benedetti and other I could not remember in this moment. Películas/Movies: Todo lo de Almódovar, especialmente "Todo sobre mi madre". I am a huge fan of spanish and american movies.
