About Me

Hello! My name is Javi and I have lived in Madrid all my life. Lately, I've been thinking a lot about my life and I've come to realize that, as Albert Camus would say, my life has been inertia. I haven't traveled much, and the few times I have, it's been to the same touristy places everyone goes to. That's why I'm now in the process of taking control of my life and exploring and learning new things. That's why I'm on Couchsurfing - I'm not just looking for a place to stay, I want to meet people from other cultures and share different points of view and exciting experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At this point in my life, I feel like I'm stuck in my city and would love to meet people who want to explore the lesser-known places in Madrid. I am passionate about travelling and learning about other cultures, so I would also like the opportunity to connect with people from all over the world and learn about their unique stories and perspectives. As a host, I would be happy to share my knowledge of the city and help my guests have an authentic and memorable experience in Madrid.

Interests

I'm passionate about all kinds of sports. If you practice any sport, I'll be happy to join you and learn. Due to lack of time, I mainly go to the gym, play paddle, go hiking, and I'm starting to get into CrossFit. When I was younger, I practiced Judo, Football, Basketball, and juggling. Also, although it's not a physical activity, I'm a big fan of chess.

The rest of my free time is mostly spent reading. Until recently, I only read philosophy, but now I'm a big fan of Brandon Sanderson (I'm halfway through Mistborn) and McCarthy.

I also love cooking. I don't yet know how to make many recipes, but I consider my stews and Spanish omelets are very good.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I believe the most important thing I can offer is my delicious Spanish tortilla de patatas. Additionally, I'm a person who always has interesting conversation topics, although the subjects I can talk about for hours are philosophy and fitness. I'm a great companion for sports and taking endless walks in our favorite places. I'm also a good opponent to play chess with and I can teach you how to juggle and even make your own juggling balls!
