About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find balance in everything I do

ABOUT ME

Eternal optimist. Avid traveler. Home cook. Science nerd. Political junkie. Homebody. Crossfitter/snatcher/clean-and-jerker/Olympic weightlifter. Voracious reader. Photographer.

Wanderlust (noun) \ˈwän-dər-ˌləst\
: strong longing for or impulse toward wandering

My life journey, especially in the last few years, has revolved around that word--wanderlust--the ceaseless desire to explore (at times aimlessly) and experience the world for what it truly is. My pilgrimage has brought me to thirty of these fifty united States, and along with it, cherished memories that lasts a lifetime.

I graduated from UT with a degree in Biology and something in Liberal Arts. After spending another year in Austin working as a research assistant, I decided to move to Philadelphia, PA for a new job. I now work at a healthcare software company. While I still have the same job currently, I moved back to Houston and I am now in the middle of applying to medical school and planning a trip around the world. At this point in my life, I'm learning to let go and let the tides -- the ebb and the flows -- of the Universe take over.

I'm fascinated by anything related to science, religion, politics, sexuality, and a multitude of other things.

I've recently (in the past year or so) been delving into a bit of photography. I love taking photos of nature (landscapes, macro, etc.), my travels, as well portraits, as well as different abandonments (urban exploring) in the northeast.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In New Mexico, I spent a night in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. The place, called the Lightning Field, is a prime example of land art: 100 lightning rods in a mile-by-kilometer grid amidst the New Mexican landscape. When the sun rises and sets, the rods reflect the subtle hues of the visible light spectrum--the light yellows and blood reds--and slowly disappear into the shadow of night. Not long after, the skies reveal millions of tiny, twinkling dots strewn across a background of milky white and nothingness. Fantastic.

Urban exploring: psychiatric hospitals, coal breakers, mills and factories

Grew up in the Philippines. Chocolate Hills, Boracay, beaches, mountains, farm.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook, and I'd love to share my recipes with you!

I'm huge into the idea of "passion." Passion defined as something we're willing to die or suffer for. For me, I think that manifests itself in a passion for compassion. To be able to suffer with others. What are you passionate about? What are you willing to die for?

Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, North Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States
