Overview
About Me
I was born in New Zealand and spent the majority of my life growing up there.
I worked for 9+ years as a screen printer before coming to the USA in 2010 and traveling to the UK and Australia before moving here permanently in 2014.
Since moving here I am now in the hospo Industry working predominately as a bar tender.
I have a lot of creative interests as an artist and musician, but the past few years have been a little stagnant for me, I have been living in a small(ish) Midwest campus town and they have not been the most productive years of my life. I have some new found freedom and am ready to hit the road again for a while.
I recently got my hands on a Banjo which is an unusual transition from guitar but i'll probably be traveling with it if I can get on the plane with it.
I love: music..Good food/cooking..fitting my life in a back pack..drinking cold beer on a summer night..exploring..camping out
I am a down to earth and easy going person, I have no trouble being a clean, quiet and respectful guest,
I love meeting new people and getting to share a moment of their lives, making good memories and maybe even an amazing friend or two along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was born and raised in New Zealand and have been living in the US for the past 5 years,
The past 3 years have been a bit of a drag because I was going thru a ton of drama with immigration issues and unable to travel or leave the country, However I just recently had my Green Card granted and I have decided to take a bit of an adventure again..I Have booked tickets to Honolulu at the beginning of December and will likely make my way to Maui. I have never been to Hawaii before and I have no idea what to expect, the tickets were on sale for ridiculously cheep and I just decided to be impulsive and buy them and hope everything falls into place.
I am looking into camp grounds and hoping I can find places to camp during the trip, and also hoping I can meet people to show me round and hopefully offer me a place to sleep.
I like the idea of finding work during my stay, but I also understand that may not be realistic.
Even if you are unable to host me or meet in person, I would be so very grateful to any locals who can help me with/ recommend camp grounds or areas where I may get away with pitching a sneaky tent for a night.
I need advice and help planing to make sure I am prepared for this trip so please send me a message if you have time to talk :)
