About Me

Hi! I’m Jay from Ilocos Norte, Philippines 🌴

I enjoy meeting travelers and hearing stories from people exploring different parts of the world. Ilocos Norte is known for its beautiful beaches, windmills, amazing sunsets, and great local food.

I’m a local guide who also works in rental management and curates stays and travel experiences around Ilocos Norte. I’m always happy to share insider tips, hidden spots, food recommendations, and help travelers make the most of their visit.

I appreciate respectful, easygoing travelers and genuinely enjoy the cultural exchange that comes with Couchsurfing. If you’re passing through Ilocos Norte, feel free to say hi. 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing to meet interesting people, make friends, and learn from different perspectives. I love exchanging ideas and experiences, and I’m especially interested in connecting with fellow travelers and entrepreneurs to share knowledge and inspiration.

Mariah Carey, Titanic, and getting lost in dictionaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I’ve done is choose to trade Manila city living for a more meaningful life back home in Ilocos Norte. I turned my love for this place into helping travelers experience it in a more personal way—through hidden beaches, unforgettable sunsets, local food spots, and peaceful stays that many visitors would never find on their own. Seeing people fall in love with my home through those experiences is something I’m really proud of.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: how to get lost in Ilocos Norte and still find good food 😄, basic Filipino survival phrases, and questionable life advice from locals
Learn: your language, your culture, and why you travel better than me
Share: hidden spots, cheap eats, and stories that may or may not be 100% accurate anymore after a few beers.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I come with questionable jokes, decent conversation, and a strong ability to slightly misunderstand directions but still end up somewhere interesting. I’m happy to help out with small things around the house so I don’t feel like I’m just freeloading with personality. 😅
