About Me

I'm friendly, kind and generous and looking to make some new connections.
I enjoy learning about different cultures, and experiences, while sharing my own. I'm very active, and I love an adventure, but I haven't had enough of them. There is always space for more! I also love a challenge.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to meet new, like-minded friends in the area, and to have different options available when out on my travels.
It's a great way to have the local knowledge of an area that you wouldn't usually get as a tourist.
I have met up with fellow CSers in Nottingham, Prague and Vienna.

Interests

I'm really into my music, particularly indie and electro. I play acoustic guitar and sing.
I enjoy reading, but don't find the time to do enough of it.
I do a fair bit of climbing, particularly bouldering (without ropes).
I enjoy good design, which I try to do as part of my job, and I really enjoy taking in really good design and artwork.
I am part of a badminton team and play regularly.
And of course, just like everybody else on here...I like to Travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favourite films include those by Wes Anderson such as Grand Budapest Hotel, The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic.
Into the Wild, Touching the Void, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,
Books: anything by Charlie Brooker, the Tolkien books, Cormac McCarthy, The Call of the Wild, Kerouac On the Road, Into Thin Air and many more.
Music: too much to list. Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Caribou to name some of my favourites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2014 I cycled 400 miles (600km) through Northern Spain on the Camino de Santiago. Staying in hostels and alburgues, a convent (and even a handmade tent in torrential rain) along the way. All in all it was great fun, and I got to see parts of Spain I'd never seen before. A great adventure!
Also In 2014 I completed my first 2 marathons. Glutton for punishment!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn more Spanish.

I'm a good listener and observer. There's always so much more to learn about people and cultures, and I love to learn what makes people tick.
Through learning about people, it helps me to learn about myself. People are constantly changing and adapting to their surroundings, like social chameleons.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A friendly and helpful personality, deep conversations.
I could maybe play some guitar and sing if I'm feeling brave enough!
