About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To fill a semester off with as much people, world and work experience as I can. And love every second of it.
ABOUT ME
Twenty-six, most of the way through a dual degree (Zoology and Journalism), travelled a bit, worked a lot. I try to keep my sense of humour, as I think it's one of the best tools ever invented for life.
I was raised an idealist. Since discovering that not much is ideal, I now spend my time wavering between wanting to know everything about everything, getting in and completely upgrading 'the system' and wanting to just disappear to some mountain range somewhere, become self-reliant and never rely on 'the system' again. No matter where I am on this spectrum though, I tend to think it's all valid, and that as long I'm doing something with a bit of conviction, it's all going to be okay. I guess that counts as a bio. The rest is a bit generic - you know, plays sport, knows shit, does things, etc.
This gives a more tactile description of what I'm about:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I only remembered this site when I was already abroad, so I haven't had much experience with it. But when I was in Brisbane, my German housemate hosted many surfers, and we all cooked them dinner and chatted, so I feel as though I have already done lots of hosting. Of course, I intend to do more, under my own profile. Meanwhile, as my plans unfold, I hope my surfing experiences will give me an opportunity to share and learn in equal parts and have good times with all the world's citizens.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Limited so far, except for unofficially co-hosting with my housemate in Australia. Though having said that, before I was part of this site, I have shared a matchbox room in Paris with two others, camped for four months straight in one tent with two of my friends, slept in a London corridor on several pillow lined up in a row, and even slept sitting up in a bus station as all the youth hostels ended up booked. So, by comparison, the experiences on this site seem luxurious.
Interests
My degrees are in Science (Zoology) and Journalism, but what that maybe doesn't say is that I also love being creative and experiencing other people's creativity. I have a definite interest in creating media.
I'm pretty physical and can always go for some outdoor activity. There's something about an amazing landscape that just sets me off.
Also, learning about all the different ways that the world works fascinates me, from socio-political systems to the motivations of individuals and entities. Anything, really, anything.

Music, Movies, and Books
Nick Cave and the Badseeds, Pearl Jam, Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis, Danny the Champion of the World, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind... There's just so much good stuff out there - to name any is to rip yourself off, but there you go.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
An illuminated desert landing strip on dusk. As I jogged up it, the windsocks glowed, the tungsten lightbulbs all in a row had a few colours mixed in and the sky went violet and orange as the darkness closed in. It was absolutely magic.
