ABOUT ME
Hey! my name is Jaya, im 25 years old. I have a passion for traveling and music and trying new things. I love meeting new people from all different places. I like keeping pretty busy, and I have many hobbies. I am in a band, i sing, play guitar and keyboard. I love the Ocean! sailing, hiking, looking for beach glass. I am funny, adventurous and easy to get along with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have couch surfed in Portugal and Spain, and hosted people when I lived in Halifax, but always through friends/roommates accounts, so my own account is still kinda sparse! Its nice to experience both sides of the couchsurfing community, staying with people and having people be able to stay at your place!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing is really special, it offers such a unique way of traveling and getting to see new places. I love the random people you meet, and the friends you make! its really amazing.
Interests
I love music, both playing and listening. I love the outdoors, especially hiking, sailing and biking, as well as pic-nics which are also always lovely! I also really enjoy crafts! I paint, draw, make jewellry, lots of things! My interest in cooking is expanding little by little, I hope to one day consider myself a cook! I love photography, which goes hand in hand with my love of travel as does my love of food! Many types of dancing, especially jazz, hip hop and salsa!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have sailed around the world, which gives you such a different view of the world and cultures, its so beautiful to approach a place from the water first, rather than the air, and see it on the horizon for a few days before you get there!
In 2012 I walked 900 kilometers on El Camino de Santiago in northern Spain. A truly incredible experience, that I will never forget. So mnay amazing people from all of the world and all different ages. Words cannot describe how great it felt to live like this for just over a month, so simply, in a transient supportive community of like-minded people brought together.
I have lived in southern mexico as well as cuba!
