Coming back to Europe for the first time since I was 8 years old and want to meet some new friends.

ABOUT ME

I'm 29 years old and recently finished my masters degree. I worked for about a year and was laid off from the bank I worked at due to the current global economic conditions. So now that I am unemployed and actually have some free time I am going back to Europe to explore where I grew up and meet some new friends. I love experiencing new things, I love a challenge, and I love experiencing situations where I am forced to get out of my "comfort zone." In my opinion that is the only way to ever truly know the kind of person you are.

PHILOSOPHY

Work hard, play harder. I'll never stop educating myself because the more you know the better you can deal with adversity. One of the best quotes I ever heard was "The more you experience the less you fear." I absolutely love travelling but I haven't had the time or money to do anything really cool until now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I lived in Kansas my roommates and I had our couch available but no visitors. We had 2 requests but we were out of town and the visitors were lucky and found other people in town to stay with. Now that I am living with my parents I do not have a couch to offer... but hopefully I will find another job soon and have my own place and a couch to offer again.

Interests

I am a renaissance man of sorts. I can enjoy doing just about anything as long as I enjoy the people I'm with. I get along with almost anyone and I just want to enjoy my time wherever I am. Specifically though, I enjoy travelling (obviously), sports, music, movies, hanging out with friends and family, my dogs, working with my hands, working out, sand volleyball, skiing, softball, cooking, eating and life in general.

Music, Movies, and Books

Pearl Jam is by far my favorite band. I listen to just about anything but my favorites are Led Zeppelin, Tool, Beatles, Rolling Stones, and the Deftones. My favorite movie is the Big Lebowski but I also would consider The Godfather movies, Caddyshack, Shawshank Redemption, and The Beach.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been backpacking in New Mexico's mountains for 3 weeks on 3 different occasions. I was born in Germany and I have lived there twice. I remember some things but I can't wait to see everything again and make some new memories. Skydiving was amazing!
