Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To save weary travelers from sleep deprivation.
ABOUT ME
Non-smoker, life-adventurer, over-educated, athletic achiever. Love my family and trusts my friends. In Oct 2013, I became the General Manager of the Brisbane Bandits, a pro baseball team in Australia.
PHILOSOPHY
If it'll make a good story, you should probably do it. But even more than that: Confront your fears.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Joined in March 2010.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far, it's been great. I've met a lifelong friend in Jose, a filmmaker who stayed with me for a week and whom I've seen on several occasions. I've met a world class harpist, two professional "jogglers," some comedians and lots of random travelers. In addition, I've stayed with (and stayed in touch with) some amazing people in New Zealand and Canada.
Interests
Music, ultimate frisbee, weight training, cycling, snowboarding, rowing, improvisational comedy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked across Tazmania, Australia. Participated in the Ragbrai in 2000. Visited New Zealand with my parents in early 2012. In June/July 2012, I came up with a "Choose Jay's Own Adventure Trip" where I asked them to vote me from destination to destination on a road trip. Without Couchsurfing, such a trip would never have been feasible.
