Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have a guest bedroom that doesn't get used enough. I have good knowledge of things to do in the wild west.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had the opportunity to be a host so far. I hoped to find some couches for this ski season someday. I'll try harder next time! Aaah yes NYC 28Jun-6Jul08 is next great adventure. Nope sure wasn't. Actually it turns out the great Northwest has turned out to be the next great adventure. NYC 2010 dang it! :) Nope, 2009 adventures took me to SF, CA, WA, OR, IL, IN, and himalaya bay, mexico. Now the next great adventure is the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. I will be rooting for the good ole USofA! Woohoo! Then I most likely will head to Europe via Egypt and Istanbul. So that basically pushes NYC to 2011 unless I can be convinced to adventure there earlier.
I have had the recent opportunity to host 7 groups (1 returnee) of CSers over a 4 week period over the holiday break Dec08-Jan09.
And it looks like the worlds largest gem and rock fest and southwest in general is yielding 3 groups in a 3 week period.
Five other groups (1 returnee, 4 returns in that stretch) from Jan09-May09
Learned to SCUBA dive thru CSing. Go figure?
I am glad to be able to be of assistance and glad the guest bedroom gets used :)
Had a summer group with options for 2 more groups to be staying at the end of July.
Had my first CS double booking in Nov 2009. Had to make up the futon couch. One group built gardens for me! Yay! Thanks.
Now it looks like I will be doublebooked again this month in Nov 2009 with 2 more CS groups this weekend.
I have had a slew of international CSers from Nov09-Jan10 consisting of american, brazilian, canadian, the french, chinese, polish, NYC, and austrian.
I cohosted my first official CS event in Jan2010 with my CSing SCUBA buddy! woohoo! good stuff :)
Had awesome Americans around Apr10. Thanks Ryan!
What happened to 2011????
Woohoo hosted 2 awesome Spaniards right after I got back from exploring Hawaii in Aug2012.
Spent time with a CSer from China which has been tops Aug12.
My very first CS surfer family of 5 surfed for a couple weeks in Nov12 for the 5th surf in 6 years. Is this the beginning of a long term relationship? =-)
Now begins 2013! and I am headed back to Hawaii this time Hilo bound and going to use CS to surf for the first time it if I can but it didn't work out and got the run around but no matter because sleeping on the beach is absolutely heavenly on the Big Island. I was able to meet up with past CSers on the big isle and had yet another magical time there. I met my first CS surfer family in Hawaii and we had lunch at a Hawiian greasy spoon!
I have had the great chance to meet a CSer from San Carlos in Mar2013 who invited me to surf his couch on his 40ft trimaran anchored in the bay. I have been there 6 times in the last 12 months and plan a total of 7 trips at least in 2014. San Carlos or bust 2014!
I spent over 40 days in Mexico in 2014 in about 8 trips couchsurfing and overall having a blissful time in San Carlos, Mexico. Unfortunately, the tri maran was taken out by a hurricaine but good good CSers there help make San Carlos fantastic! I hope to get back in 2015 6 trips or so again. I have had the pleasure of hosting my first CSing group for the 8th time in 9 years or so and have just had a 3 time CSer returnee from Washington for the Gem Show. I have had the great opportunity to have a CSer cook a traditional Greek dish including spices brought from Greece!

one does not have to remove the engine mount to replace a serpentine belt on a late 90's buick lesabre. there is a shimmy with a bolt thru it as the proper method.
