About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Explore more of my own backyard and to meet the people, experience the culture, see the lifestyles, and learn and challenge myself in the wilderness on offer.
ABOUT ME
Born in the magical temperate rainforests of South East Alaska and then moved to the big smoke - Seattle - where I spent out my teens. I moved to Australia soon after my high school graduation for a 6 month gap year. Fast forward 8 years and I am still living in Australia! After backpacking, hiking, kayaking, and cycle touring trips that have taken me to countries like India, New Zealand, Indonesia, Mexico, Guatemala, to name a few I finally settled into studying Outdoor Recreation in Hobart, Tasmania. I now work as an Expedition Tour Leader though out Tasmania and the Australian Outback leading tours from cycling and kayaking trips to fly in / walk out backpacking trips. I recently pursed work opportunities in Alaska and a few months later I found myself crewing a 32' Sternpicker in Bristol Bay, commercial fishing for sockeye salmon. I enjoy the simple things, I value relationships over dollars and adventures over beach holidays. I'm not very good at talking about myself, as idk if I really know much about myself but I'm learning!
PHILOSOPHY
It's quite a blend. After traveling and living in places such as India, South East Asia, and Australia I have found thoughts and beliefs that mesh together to form a philosophy I've yet to find a label for. I love to chat over different philosophies with anyone interested. I once read Bertrand Russell's History of Western Philosophy. Karma's real, I think?

I'm not sure if I could live w/o music - 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s classics, reggae, folk, rap, and indie are some of my go to.
Into the Wild, Into Thin air - Jon Krakauer, Touching the Void, Deep Survival, Alastair Humphreys, Henry Thoreau's Walden, Joseph Conrad, JK Rowling's Harry Potter series, Australian Indigenous Anthropology works such as The Greatest Estate and Aboriginal Tasmanians, and A Cloud Spotters Guide, Tracks by Robyn Davidson.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once rode a bicycle across New Zealand and free camped the entire way, 3000km.
Teach, Learn, Share
A migrating bird by the name of the Artic Tern will fly up to 55,000 miles in one year which during its lifetime equates to it flying to the moon and back more than three times.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Knowledge on places like Australia, Alaska and New Zealand as well as what it’s like to work as an Expedition Leader in remote wilderness areas and life as a Fisherman in Bristol Bay.
