Music, Movies, and Books
Right now my favorite book has to be Mindy Kaling's Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns.) She always been a hilarious person to me and I feel as though I have a lot in common with her. Granted I've only started reading it, but I already love this book for her sense of humor and how she's able to laugh at herself for past mistakes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Hamburg, Germany, I've had the amazing chance to go to Dinner in the Dark. Its a museum that helps you experience daily life for someone who is blind/visually impaired. Nearly everyone working in the museum is blind or visually impaired. Our tour guide was completely blind and took us through the different scenarios, like getting on a boat, crossing a road, picking fruits, etc. Coming out, I felt more humbled and extremely grateful for not only my sight but every little thing I take for granted for. The reason I decided to experience this was because my younger brother is blind and has been blind by birth. I may not have a complete understanding of his everyday struggle, but I can completely sympathize. After the museum tour was a dinner in the dark were your sense in taste was heightened. The dinner tasted richer and it was surprising to taste whatever was in front of you. I wish everyone could experience this museum at least once because I can PROMISE you that you will come out a changed person.
Teach, Learn, Share
Want to learn Spanish? I got chuuu!
Want to learn some sewing techniques? I got chuuuu!
Want to learn some Peruvian dishes? I got chuuu!
Need a wingwoman? I got chuu too!
All jokes aside, any advice you can provide with traveling abroad will be greatly appreciated. I'm still new to all of this and I'm very anxious to get my travels started!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I've always been good at listening and trying new things. If there's something you want to vent about, I'm hear to listen. If there's a new bar you want to go to and have no one to go with...I say let's go! Also, I can cook some pretty good lomo saltado! 😀
