Resumen
Sobre mí
CURRENT MISSION
To fulfill an old penchant for new starts, and a permanent love for the temporary.
ABOUT ME
Can be either shy or unapologetically, outspokenly honest - depending on the vibe of present company. Loose cannon at times. Proud to a fault. Empathetic, also to a fault. Occasionally prone to a lyrical kind of verbosity. Equally confused and fascinated by human behaviour.
PHILOSOPHY
forget about praising the kindness OF strangers; start practicing kindness TO strangers... And various other cheesy, blindly-idealistic mantras, like 'trust others to the point of idiocy'.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well! I started hosting June 2009. I've had a lot of long-term and repeat surfers, and that's the way I like it - really getting to know and engage with my temporary housemates. Initially, that was as far as I had intended to become involved with the project. But, who will deny that CS has the potential to change one's expectations of many things - not least of all oneself? So for reasons rather complex, during my travels around the US I found myself surfing other people's couches. This had only strengthened my faith in the project, and I am inspired to become more involved when I next settle somewhere.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All of my hosting experiences thus far have been delightful, but a few highlights include trying to mix up powdered kava for 6 in our kitchen, rock climbing around Diamond Bay, my first ever Thanksgiving, the craziest birthday ever (300 balloons in my bedroom and a champagne shower - thanks Sandy, Marije, Bill and Derrick!), and a snowstorm of foam beans in our apartment.
Intereses
Herpetofauna, ethnobotany, video games, public transport (especially trains!), music, walking in unfamiliar places, having a beer with people that i love... hell having a beer with anybody. Also intellectually stimulating conversation... bit of a nerd over here.
Recently i have also picked up a kayak (!), and reclaimed some creative tools from a long hiatus in storage... these include paints (mainly gouache), a sewing machine, and a tattoo gun (Promise I will not ink you... Unless you want me to, that is!).

Algo increíble que he hecho
I've climbed [or attempted to] mountains in the Rockies, killed it on the Grouse Grind, watched a meteor shower over Yellowstone, camped for a week in the Black Rock Desert with ~52 000 other people, ran along the Napali Coast, slept on the beach in Hanalei, canyoned in Bungonia Gorge, drove the Great Ocean Road and Alpine Way in my van/home, hiked overnight when it was snowing in the Tirol mountains, cycled all over Skåne....
Sorry i could not stop at one thing seen - such a beautiful and wondrous world! And to stop at one thing done would not do justice to the countless wonderful people befriended, who have been my teachers in humanity throughout the journey.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I know alot of stuff about alot of stuff. Someone once commented that they inevitably learnt something new every time we met. But maybe that was just a polite way of calling me a know-it-all.
