ABOUT ME
Music occupies most of my waking life, whether I am teaching, writing, listening, practicing or performing. It is what I do for a living, but it is also my passion. I wholeheartedly agree with Nietsche's philosophy that "Without music, life would be a mistake."
While I generally consider myself to be a political atheist, if you had to put me in a category I suppose you could say that I am right-brained and left-leaning.
I come from a large family. I have three brothers and three sisters, all of whom I love very much. My father is a visual artist by trade and my mother is a music teacher. I guess you could say that, in a sense, I was raised by the arts.
I own a house in St. Boniface, the "french quarter" of Winnipeg. Despite the fact that Winnipeg is known to be the second coldest large metropolitan area in the world (next to Moscow), I absolutely love this city. During the winter months, we have the world's longest skating rink (which I have been taking advantage of quite a bit lately), and in the summer we have decent mountain biking paths along the river. Most importantly to me, there is an ever growing world-class music scene here and I feel very fortunate to be able to take part in it.
Je suis franco-manitobain et on pourrait dire que je suis plutôt fier de mon héritage francophone.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: too numerous to list by artist so I will list the genres which I enjoy listening to (and playing):
blues, jazz, folk, classical, flamenco, rock, country.
Books: The Inner Game of Music, Catch 22, 1984, Breakfast of Champions, The Shock Doctrine...
Movies: The Saddest Music in The World, Monty Python and The Quest For The Holy Grail, Manon des Sources...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Amazing thing done: recently I hiked a 63 km trail in the Canadian shield. It was quite difficult but it was a pretty amazing time!
Amazing thing seen: In the spring/summer of 2004 I had no less than five absolutely unexplainable UFO sightings in and around the Winnipeg area, one of them from a close distance!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a guitar instructor by trade so this would probably be the most obvious thing that I could offer to teach. I am also fluent in both English and French and I would be willing to help anyone who wants to learn either language.
