COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to have any experiences through this site but I once stayed on a lady's, named Lady, couch, in Veracruz. I met her online through a social network. There was a huge communication gap between the two of us, my friends spoke Spanish but rarely translated for me, but it was a awesome experience. It was funny how me and Lady were able to connect even though the only thing she said to me that I understood was "Princess Di" Whom she thought I looked an awful lot like, haha. She guided us through the crowds at Carnival, cooked homemade mexican for us in the mornings and danced with us all night even though she was probably twice our age. She was the most lively and youthful individual I ever met. I highly recommend crashing on couches to even hostels, best way to meet and get close to new people.

Interests

I am a bit of a cinephile. I enjoy food, humane food. I like hiking, biking, walking, music, art, sewing, basically anything hip and then some.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Hayoa Myazaki films as well as Wes Anderson films. Love "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", "Amelie", and any sci-fi films. The "Lord of the Rings" trilogy is one of my favorites as well as "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi". I also really enjoy movies I watched as a kid. "Dark Crystal", "The Point" and "Aladin".

I enjoy all forms of music. Ray Charles moves me. Fond of folk, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Dave Von Ronk and new stuff like Fleet Foxes. I love girl and guy duos like Belle and Sebastian and The Dutches and The Duke. I like melancholy music like Radiohead and Animal Collective. My favorite Punk band lately has been Titus Adronicus and My favorite pop as of late is Best Coast, they are everything I am on the surface. Wavves is sometimes the only thing that gets me through the day, they are all the right kind of noise.

Hooray for books "The Road" is one of those books that I feel I survived and am all the better for it, along with "What is the What". Charles Dickens is still my favorite spokesperson for the lower socioeconomic class that I falsely believe I am part of, my favorite is "Great Expectations". "Peter Pan" lifts my spirits any day and "Wuthering Heights" is enough erotica as I will ever need. "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau is what I read outside. Inside I attempt to read Nietzsche, "Beyond Good and Evil", I fail miserably.I will also forever love anything "Harry Potter".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once saw little sea turtle hatch-lings crossing the beach into the ocean at sunset, one of the happiest moments of my life.

I sew, in fact I am sewing instructor and I would love to exchange knowledge. I want to learn a different language.
