Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have couch surfed in Paris and it was such a great experience that I am greatly looking forward to opening up my home to the couch surfer community and continue to meet new people from around the world and further expanding my horizons and cultural competency. I absolutely LOVE hosting when I have the time, cooking, baking, and making people feel as much at home as possible!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My sister and I stayed in Chatillion, France with a wonderfully delightful couple, David and Vladi. They were the most gracious host and greeted us with open arms, smiles, french cheese, and wine! They really gave us a great peak into the day in the life of a Parisian and ultimately really opened my eyes to how great being a part of couch surfing community really is! David convinced me to update my profile, so you should be smiling right now.
I've also hosted a ton of travelers who were passing through Sacramento. It has been a tremendous experience and without a doubt has expanded my horizons within a world wide community of travelers, healers, seekers, adventurers.

When I'm not in the yoga studio you can find me writing poetry, frequenting tea houses, teaching commercial paddle boarding in the San Francisco Bay, singing my heart out, meditating in the forrest under a big oak tree, facilitating a monthly creative writing group, fire dancing, taking and teaching improv comedy classes, nurturing my veggie garden, or traveling to beautiful and tropical parts of the world to surf, yoga, and just be.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Currently LOVE the movie Wild. Loved the book even more.
Reading "Pilgrim" by David Whyte. I LOVE his poetry. My spiritual handbook is "When Things Fall Apart" by Pema Chodron. I'm also loving "Enlightenment for Idiots" a novel by Anne Cushman. "Daily Om" is on my bedside table for inspiration and guidance. I'm a multiple book reader kinda gal.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I was a prison social worker for 4 years and during that time I co-founded the Prison Yoga Project with a mission to bring yoga programs into prisons all over the world. I wholeheartedly believe in yoga as a powerful healing modality for incarcerated individuals and people in underserved communities.
I was a competitive triathlete for 5 years. I raced in over 50 triathlons, completed 3 half ironman races, and ran 35 miles in the mountains all at once. I even founded a triathlon club and was acting president for the first year of its existence. That was a time in my life when I was pretty much insane. I'm still trail running and road riding for fun but I've calmed down a bit more since then. ;) Yoga is my new religion.
