About Me

Wow, haven't updated my profile since 2012! I'll leave all of my college-years meanderings unedited down below, but I am now a Brooklyn-based YouTube content creator along with my boyfriend of 7 years, Jeremy (you can find him in many of my profile photos).

From 2012...
CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life to the MAX!

ABOUT ME

I am a recent graduate from UMass Amherst currently living in Brooklyn, NY. Last summer, I moved (temporarily) to Los Angeles to attend the Professional Producer's Program at UCLA; I have always been fascinated by the entertainment industry and hope to one day become a film and television producer.

While at UMass, I worked at the student-run television station, UVC-TV 19 and spent much of my time creating, producing and directing original shows. I've spent the second semester of my junior year studying and interning in London, and I've since fallen in love with the city. (I hope to move back there someday).

For my senior Capstone project, I produced a documentary about CouchSurfing, entitled "CouchSurfing in America". In the film, I interviewed a wide spectrum of people with differing views on the topic, and, along with my best friend Jer, also documented three CS excursions in Amherst, Boston and NYC.

I love my family very much; we are a close-knit group and though I only have one brother, my three younger cousins have also become my siblings. My friends are very important to me and I value them immensely. I try to live life with a positive attitude and I love to make people smile :)

PHILOSOPHY

I like to make people happy and I like to be happy too. I try to live my life with a positive attitude and make people smile. Laughter is infectious so don't be afraid to catch the disease :P

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My best friend Jer informed me about the Couchsurfing community, and we have since utilized the service while traveling throughout the UK, continental Europe, and parts of the United States.

Currently, I am living in Amherst with Jer and his brother Zac, and we have 2 couches available to host surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While studying in London, Jer and I surfed in Brighton, England and Edinburgh, Scotland. In summer 2010, we traveled around Europe and surfed in Paris (with two different hosts), Munich, and Nice.

This past year, we surfed in Amherst, Boston and NYC to document each experience for my film, "CouchSurfing in America".

Interests

I love anything to do with the entertainment industry and popular culture. Since I discovered my love for film in the 8th grade, I have made an effort to see as many movies (released in theatres) as possible. However, though I am quite aware of most films released after 2003, my knowledge of movies made prior to this time is somewhat limited (I still haven't seen "Raging Bull", I KNOW!).

I also enjoy most genres of music and am a fan of several television series.

I like creating and coordinating my own projects as well; I've produced and directed two reality shows as well as a documentary film, and hope to begin working on more projects in the near future.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My proudest accomplishment thus far in life would have to be creating UMass Amherst's only reality show, "The Orchard Hills". Some of my roles in this project included producing, directing, editing, casting, promoting and publicizing. I also worked alongside the production crew, handling cameras, boom poles, and the occasional light set. It was one of the most time-consuming and hard-working productions to come out of UVC in recent years. But with the help of two other student producers, countless crew members, and a cast of thirteen, “The Orchard Hills” became a reality.

Teach, Learn, Share

Through my experience as a producer, I hope to demonstrate ways to inspire and coordinate others in order to create something great together.
