About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm too sweet, I'll give you cavities...
ABOUT ME
Just finished my Ph.D. and am in transition at the moment, new job, new apartment, new life... check back in with me in a while and I may be able to host.
PHILOSOPHY
Embracing your insignificance is liberating...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I attend local CS Activities in DC, I've hosted quite a few surfers in DC through my roommate, and have surfed a couple couches while traveling for research
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't had a lot of couchsurfing experiences outside of DC. We've hosted a number of really great and interesting people, and I participate in many local events - from Ski trips, to concerts, to weekly soccer games, as well as many parties.
Interests
I like to read, explore the urban landscape, hike, have drinks with friends - new and old - and generally enjoy life. Professionally, I study the environment, specifically the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence, so if you have any river stories or an interest in ecology or environmentalism that's a plus

Music, Movies, and Books
Too many to list... I have an affection for indie rock and old school punk, I don't think Wes Anderson has made a bad movie, and I love mid-century American fiction, think Jack Kerouac
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Niagara Falls... from my childhood but still leaves me in awe. The Grand Canyon, it's true that it's one of the few things in life that never disappoints, but the people around can be... The other day I saw a man balance his bicycle on his chin while spinning both tires... that was pretty impressive, and a dollar well spent.
Teach, Learn, Share
I do all these things.
