Overview
About Me
I'm a 25 year old sustainable home designer/builder turned shepherd. Aspiring world vagabond.
I've spent the last few years living and working on a sheep farm in Ontario, as well as working as a Passive House designer at a local business that produces prefabricated super-insulated building envelopes.
I play a variety of stringed instruments and enjoy a good night at the campfire or pub - especially when there's pub trivia to play. I'm a fairly competent cook and love food in general.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books
Books
I am a sucker for the Douglases (Adams and Coupland), Bret Easton Ellis, humourous and/or dark stuff. If I start reading something I am compelled to finish it regardless of quality or quantity.
Movies
Many movies... Wes Anderson, Monty Python, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, The English Patient, Into the Wild, American Psycho, Lost In Translation, Rules of Attraction, Eternal Sunshine, Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, Happiness, This Is England, Children of Men, Coen Brothers, P.T. Anderson, Tarentino, Miyazaki
Shows
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Spaced, Summer Heights High, Angry Boys, Arrested Development, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Parks and Rec, Archer, Rick and Morty, Jeopardy, True Detective, Downton Abbey (don't knock it), The Mighty Boosh, Workaholics, Game of Thrones.
Music
All kinds of stuff: old folk, indie rock, psych rock, ambient/IDM, chillwave, post-punk, garage, trip-hop etc..
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Half of the sheep farm is on an island in Lake Ontario, so every year we barge ~5000 sheep across a 1km channel, in loads of 200.
It's quite the spectacle and people teasingly call us the Waupoos Island Express.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some guitar to the best of my ability.
I tend to spout some pretty interesting trivial facts.
I know a fair bit about super-insulated home construction.
I'm also quite handy in general.
I plan to do some hitchhiking. Want to learn some languages and culture.
I would like to learn more about peoples' day-to-day lives.
I want to learn about everything.
I would like to share:
laughs,
memories,
music,
the world
What I Can Share with Hosts
Depending on preference I can bring beer, wine, food, do some cooking, help with construction/handyman tasks, etcetera.
I like to extend the low-impact "leave no trace" trail mentality to most aspects of my life - unless it's a good impact!
