ABOUT ME

Hmmm. I guess I'll start at the beginning: I was born and raised in Costa Rica where I had a delicious childhood by the Caribbean ocean. I am also lucky enough to have my dad and my sister still living there, so I visit when I can. I lived in Los Angeles for 13 years (and hated it the majority of those 13 years. I suppose I have a disdain for the claustrophobic, rude, noisy, smelly, artificial city.) I moved to Portland roughly a year ago and I love it (although my tiny Caribbean body can't seem to handle the damn cold.) I can be quite shy at first but once I am used to an environment and/or person, I am talkative, funny and energetic. I love having grand conversations and will talk your ear off if we're on the same intellectual level. I'm ridiculously motivated in most everything I do, and you should be too! Anyway.. blah blah blah! I love my life! I'm a writer, a dreamer and an adventurer. I'm making it my life mission to make everything count.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe we have, at most, 100 years to live, why not make them count? I just want to get to know every inch of this world we live in. I also want to embed the notion that positive change is possible. I want this world to be better and believe that we all have the potential, with a little knowledge and discipline.

兴趣

Traveling, reading, writing, browsing online, going out with friends, learning new things, bicycling, cats, trees, hiking, laughing my ass off, the rain, the sun, the ocean and meeting new people. Mostly, I'm working on being happy. It's a process, I ain't perfect! But on a more physical plane, I'm working on meeting new people, school and TRAVELING the world. I've recently become a bit obsessed with the Food Revolution and am taking it quite seriously... changing my eating habits drastically and volunteering for involved organizations when I can. I'm an aspiring English major with a fervor for words, inspiration and expression.

Too many to count. I just love music and books that take me to another dimension. Where I forget where I am and when I do land back on earth, I feel enlightened.

Standing in the middle of the ocean off the coast of Trinidad & Tobago. We were a mile out at sea, but I could stand on the sand below me.
Hot lava trickling down the side of an active volcanoe as I hiked up it in the middle of the night.
