My name Sok Chamroeun (JB) founder of the JB Foundation here in Cambodia. I grew up in a poor rural area, as many Cambodian's of my generation did. Growing up was a struggle due to the civil war which had an impact on all Cambodians. As I grew up, I knew the importance of education, which is why I have worked hard to learn English.

The JB school has allowed for students between the ages of 5-18 to study English. It is my goal to provide affordable education to all Cambodians who seek to flourish in the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The JB School project is the main undertaking conducted by the JB Foundation Fund. It is a school that has been built in the rural village of Cheasmorn, Meancheay commune, Bakong district, outside of Siem Reap.

We provide free of charge education for children in the district. The facility teaches English and computing skills to approximately 250 children. We utilize all resources at our disposal and would love to host YOU at our school.

All travelers are unique. We are open to any ideas for what you would like to share with the students. Whether you want to play sports, do crafts, teach English, share photography...etc. We would love to meet you, and see how you can improve the education for all our students.

Our goal is to connect our students with people from around the world!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We have sent our students to Angkor Wat in order for them to learn about Khmer history, culture and religion. Without our assistance, the students would not have been able to share in such an amazing experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

Visiting our school will allow students to practice their English and open their minds to multiculturalism. Our students will be able to learn and grow.

Our main objective is to help grow the student population to allow for accessible education for all in rural Cambodia.

By sharing your experiences and culture, you can help educate our students.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The school runs Monday to Friday, between the hours of 3pm-7pm.

We ask that you commit to spending an entire day with us and prepare some sort of presentation on your country. This can be as creative as you would like. We have computer access and would love for you to talk about your country.

This can include information on geography, food, religion, sports, hobbies, etc.
